Lymington Rowers get on their bikes to raise money for
Club House

Lymington rowers ditched their oars and picked up their bikes to cycle the length of the UK raising money for a new clubhouse.

The eight-man team from the towns rowing club travelled 960 miles from John O'Groats to Lands End in 12 days and collected £1,500 with more coming in.

They lost Marc Tremain on the way who ended up in hospital on the West coast of Scotland after his wheel collapsed. They also survived a series of drenchings, with only two dry days on the road.

The fundraising continues as the growing membership means the current base in Nelson Place is too small. It is a 1940s temporary building and the club fears it may not last much longer.
